Pendleton Staff in the Spotlight - December 2015

Here are the honorees for the December Staff in the Spotlight feature. Every month, each of our schools will honor a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Congratulations to these amazing district employees! 

Lincoln Sarah Gaulke for her outstanding organization and hard work in our office. She wears so many hats and does whatever is necessary to help students in whatever they need. She goes above and beyond in everything she does!

 

McKay Patti Thorne for caring about McKay students and staff. She is always reaching out to help those in need and gives great support to everyone. She’s just awesome!

 

Sherwood Lisa Roberts for going above and beyond for students and staff. She is always putting the needs of students before hers. Her willingness to help in classrooms helps make teaching easier by supporting students’ emotional, social and behavioral needs. It’s all the little things she does that make her so very special.
Washington Missy Herman for being consistent, on time, yet flexible with schedules and willing to try new strategies with students. She goes the extra mile every day!

 

West Hills Maria Davis for being an excellent educator. She always puts kids first and is supportive to all students and staff, with a smile.

 

PELC Sarah Yoshioka for all of her creativity and kindness. She has created and shared a lot of resources for our Holidays Around the World unit. Her strong leadership and amazing ability to develop curriculum materials for everyone to share is out of this world. She’s awesome.

 

Sunridge Randy Crawford for going above and beyond to do an amazing job with the leadership class this year. Not only does he do a very efficient job of helping the group to manage school activities, but he is also teaching valuable lessons on character building through ethical and moral considerations.

 

PHS Shannon O’Roarke for going above and beyond to constantly work toward rebuilding a sustainable, meaningful program, despite the amount of time and energy it takes beyond the school day hours. Also for working so hard with an all-female cast for the fall play.
Hawthorne Mike Bittorf for working very diligently to help all kids. Even when frustrations set in, he is still working hard to keep all students headed in the right direction.
Homestead Travis Zander for taking on the counselor role for our students, putting together schedules for new kids to best fit their needs and keeping track of students who are coming and going. He works hard to make a difference for these kids.

 

Nixya’awii Wus Gone for his years of dedication to the upkeep of our building and the gym.  He’s here before staff arrives and when we enter our rooms everything is neat and orderly.  Also for his dedication to singing and drumming with students.  He’s an excellent model to our native youth.
