Pendleton Staff in the Spotlight - February 2017

The district is pleased to annnounce the February 2017 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

PELC Josh McGraw is honored for going the extra mile. He is willing to stay late with bus duty, keeping kids safe. Josh has creative ideas, is a great team player and is always willing to help out with anything.
McKay Cindy Schimel is recognized for her positive ways with children. She is patient and kind, even with adults who need help with technology. Cindy takes time to lend a helping hand and to support staff when they have questions. She helps all students understand their own unique ways of learning.
Sherwood Angela Johnston goes above and beyond for students who are struggling emotionally and academically.  Through her caring and dedication, Angela helps students turn things around.
Washington Kimi Carlson always has a smile and positive attitude, even when she has 10 people asking her for help.  She works so hard every day for the kids of Washington School. Kimi is our everything -- she takes such good care of us, all of us.
Sunridge Middle School Stephanie Arbogast does a wonderful job of interpreting for her students, as well as providing direct language arts tutoring. She also tutors in math and other subjects as needed. Stephanie is so competent and reliable that she does all of this with minimal assistance. She has to keep up to date with what is happening in each class so that she understands the material before she has to tutor it and is very dedicated.
Pendleton High School Stu Clem is honored for his devotion to PHS students and Leadership. He organizes extracurricular activities and, through his great organizational skills, makes it look easy.
Nixya'awii LaDonna Squimphen is celebrated for her extra support of kids inside and outside of the classroom. She helps to organize lunches and other special events.
Hawthorne High School Mitch Morioka is honored for his tireless efforts to help students understand the concepts of Algebra. Mitch also has a great attitude and excellent sense of humor!
Homestead Chad Patterson is recognized for taking on a new caseload with a positive attitude, getting to know our students and conducting efficient meetings. He is diligent in keeping tabs on our students with special learning styles.
