Pendleton Staff in the Spotlight - March 2017

The district is pleased to annnounce the March 2017 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

PELC Mireya Wolf is always friendly, helpful and kind. She is a team player and seems to always be where she is needed with a smile on her face. She is dedicated to our students and is always willing to give up her time to finish projects and activities for the students. Mireya is a great asset to our school!
McKay Wendy Phillips is being honored for her enthusiasm and positive outlook for making learning fun for all of her students. She has a song for everything she teaches and the kids love to sing with her. Wendy helps students feel loved and safe in all situations.
Sherwood Marcy Waterland is recognized for all of her hard work organizing the Dr. Seuss Night for our Sherwood families.
Washington Angela Bork is highlighted this month for her teamwork and collaboration. She always has a calming demeanor and works so well with more challenging students, treating them with love and kindness to build stronger relationships. Angela works hard to put her students’ diverse needs first!
Sunridge Middle School Steve Larson is a very calming, but authoritative presence when other administrators have to be out of the building. Our students respond to him in a positive way and our staff can count on him for help during his prep period. Steve does all this with a positive and sunny disposition.
Pendleton High School Karen Demianew works constantly to help students and staff, going above and beyond to help students toward meeting graduation requirements. She is always a positive influence on students and staff.
Nixya'awii Pam Wiley is honored this month for working whereever she is needed and being flexible with school lunches.
Hawthorne Alternative School Nora Rivera is recognized for being professional in serving both students and staff. Also, she’s very funny and awesome!
Homestead Kim Richards runs engaging labs with our students and keeps them on target. The science experiments she presents gives her students the opportunity of learning through discovery -- they thoroughly enjoy the hands-on learning.
