April 2018 Staff in the Spotlight

The district is pleased to announce the April 2018 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

McKay Randy Jenness is honored for his dedication to every student, supporting kids and staff with his humor, and for his hard work in obtaining grants to help update our gym facilities. He’s a hard worker who always has a positive attitude.
Sherwood Marcy Waterland always goes the extra mile with school activities, the Art Show, celebrations and more. Did you know she delivers coffee? #Starbucksuber#smile.
Washington Beth Naughton is recognized for being a brave teacher who is willing to make change and go the extra mile to support students and staff. She also leads a classroom that is engaging and supports all students.
PELC Shawndine Jones is celebrated this month for keeping her cool, loving all kids AND working so hard for all of us in Walk to Language. She is always calm and collected and a gift to students, families and staff.
Sunridge Michelle Sickels is funny and creative. She is recognized for really teaching our students to see the world through creative eyes. Michelle is also very willing to help out staff. Michelle, you rock!
PHS/Hawthorne Sonia Cooley is honored this month for setting up and organizing the school-wide PHS Career Day. It was a huge success! Thank you, Sonia.
Homestead Travis Zander is celebrated for always making sure students are placed in the correct class and ready to graduate on time.
Nixya’awii Linda Sampson is recognized for all her effort and planning of Children’s Feast.

Annette Frye does an amazing job of keeping track of our financial expenses. She is a perfectionist and forward thinker and it shows in all the work she does in keeping perfect records…preventing the district from getting into hot water with the auditors! Thank you, Annette, and enjoy retirement!
