Superintendent's Message - December 17, 2019

Chris Fritsch

The end of calendar year 2019 is nearing. It is hard to believe that the year has gone by so quickly.  It seems like yesterday we were sending off the Class of 2019 in June.  During this time of year, the Pendleton School District has much to be thankful for including the continued support from our community partners who contribute to the hundreds of thousands of dollars to our students and our programs.

Our Winter Break is Monday, December 23rd through Friday, January 3rd.  School will resume on Monday, January 6, 2020. I know many families celebrate this time of year in a variety of ways, while some may not at all.  Regardless of your circumstance, if possible, have the students engage in educational activities throughout the break. This could be reading a book, newspaper, magazine, blogs, etc., playing educational games, visiting a museum or watching educational programming such as the History Channel.

If your plans allow, remember after a break, it is an easier transition back to school if children have maintained their regular routines, including sleep/wake schedules. We are looking forward to a great 2020.

I wish you all the very best and hope you have a special time with your family and loved ones during this time of year.
