April 2019 Staff in the Spotlight

The district is pleased to announce the April 2019 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

sarah yoshioka PELC Sarah Yoshioka is an amazing teacher who makes connections with all students. She is flexible in meeting the needs of each child; her students make significant growth in all areas as she makes the most of every minute in her classroom. 


alesha walker McKay

Alesha Walker is always looking for what is best for our students. She often manages several student incentive tracking sheets for a variety of grade levels. A team player, Alesha does whatever it takes to be there for staff. McKay is an even better place because of the calm and caring manner she uses on a daily basis.


trina merriman Sherwood

Trina Merriman is honored for her caring demeanor, her willingness to help with any student and for offering great advice to other staff. She also is a great leader in how to prepare third graders for SBAC testing. 

claire ely Washington

Claire Ely brings a positive presence wherever she goes. She is calm, patient and demonstrates flexibility in her job, plus is a true team player!


ken jacobs Sunridge

Ken Jacobs is recognized this month because of his positive interaction with students and staff. Ken is always willing to help out!


evan rummerfield PHS

Evan Rummerfield is honored for his creative, innovative lessons for students. He works so, so hard for students. Evan teaches, coaches and is the advisor for Speech and Debate, all in his first year of teaching. HE ROCKS!


zach gaulke Nixya'awii Zach Gaulke is celebrated in April for his involvement in bringing Chess for Success to our school.


travis zander Hawthorne/ Homestead Travis Zander spends significant portions of his prep period EVERY day to work one-on-one with one of our students who is very behind in credits. He gives of his time selflessly to help our students succeed.

District Office

Melody Rosenberg works tirelessly on state reporting. State and federal reporting requirements increase each year -- Melody works hard to keep up with the new demands to make sure we submit timely and accurate reports.
