March 2019 Staff in the Spotlight

The district is pleased to announce the March 2019 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

elizabeth harpe PELC Elizabeth Harpe has a positive attitude every day, and she is always calm and patient. She makes connections with all kids as she helps each one be successful!
jill deutz McKay

Jill Deutz goes above and beyond to respond to the needs of all. She sets great expectations for students and holds them accountable in a respectful manner. Jill is doing great science activities for students and greets all students with a smile. An awesome teammate, she is willing to pitch in and find solutions to any situation.

mike heriza Sherwood

Mike Heriza works hard at meeting every student where they are and finding interesting and engaging lessons for them. He worked tirelessly on the Battle of the Books, spending time being a Battle Master during his recess, lunch and prep times. We are so lucky to have Mr. Heriza on staff!

connie blair Washington

Connie Blair has a huge heart and is genuinely caring, supportive and great at taking care of others. She is flexible and willing to take on any task that comes her way.

Jill Pitt is honored for being willing to accompany the robotics team to Hillsboro to ensure a positive, successful experience for one of her students. Wow, Jill!

marty campbell PHS

Marty Campbell is recognized this month for his great involvement in many school activities. He volunteers his time at school events and he is just a wonderful human being!

carrie phinney Nixya'awii Carrie Phinney is celebrated for the time and effort she gives to our students and going beyond meeting their basic needs.


wes armstrong Hawthorne/ Homestead Wes Armstrong does a great job of helping our students learn some of the social life skills they might not receive at home. He goes the extra mile to help students when they really need it. Wes has a genuine rapport with our students and we are lucky to have him!
