Evan Rummerfield, Language Arts Teacher, Pendleton High School
Rummerfield recently earned his Master’s degree in teaching at Eastern Oregon University. He is licensed to teach Secondary Language Arts and has an English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement.
Although he is new to the teaching profession, Rummerfield brings experience and formal training in Professional Learning Communities, Culturally Responsive Teaching Practices and has done research and presentations on topics such as “creative writing as a puzzle” and “writing achievement gaps.”
Although he grew up in the Salem area, once Rummerfield landed on the campus of EOU, he recognized what a special place eastern Oregon is. He is hoping to publish a novel soon and enjoys running, fishing, hiking, baking and Netflix.
