Alisha Rasheed, Special Education Teacher, Sunridge Middle School
Rasheed joins the district after spending the last three years teaching in La Grande, Oregon. In La Grande, she taught a 1st/2nd grade split class for one year and was an elementary special education teacher for two years.
Asked if anything in the Pendleton School District has surprised her so far, she said, “The staff at Sunridge and within the Special Education Department have overwhelmed me with their kindness and support. When I started, every day someone new came up to me and said hello, asked how I am doing and offered support to me.”
Rasheed graduated in 2010 from Eastern Oregon University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Minor in Anthropology and Sociology. She earned her Master’s degree in Teaching from EOU as well, and completed her certification for Special Education in March 2018. She has extended training in Number Corner, Benchmark Literacy, Next Generation Science Standards, Smarter Balance Assessment Capacity Training and Kim Sutton Math Fluency.
