November 2021 Staff in the Spotlight

The district is pleased to announce the November 2021 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

Kim Herron PELC Kim Herron for always coming to work and giving 100% to kids every day. We can count on Kim each day as her attendance is awesome and her attitude is always positive.
Aimee Gunter McKay Aimee Gunter – for going the extra mile to help teachers and students. Aimee thinks outside the box to improve systems around her. She takes initiative to solve problems and get things done before being asked. She solves scheduling problems and always jumps in to help when needed. Aimee has a positive attitude and big heart. She is definitely someone you want on your team.
Sarah Butler Sherwood Sarah Butler – This is Sarah’s second year with us here at Sherwood as an educational assistant. Here is what some of our staff had to say about her. Sarah Butler is one of the most kind, compassionate, hardworking individuals I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Every day she comes to work with a positive attitude and a drive to help in any way she can. You are doing great things. Sherwood Elementary would not be the same without her.
Lauren Roberts Washington Lauren Roberts – for putting her students’ needs first and being a wonderful teacher and teammate.
Katie Bodewig Sunridge Katie Bodewig – for being willing to help answer any questions about technology and going above and beyond for staff and students. Thanks for being there whenever we call. You truly have super powers! Super Katie!
Maddie Stuvland PHS Madeline Stuvland – It takes a special person with the right characteristics to be a successful school counselor. This is a job that requires long hours spent interfacing directly with students, parents, and school staff. Maddy works with students through issues related to academics, health, social, personal, and family problems. She listens, documents, and helps students process their problems, providing referrals to other resources as needed. She is a mediator, negotiator, and advocate for her students. Maddy also designs and implements programs to help her students thrive in the school setting while preparing them for the next stages in their lives.

Wesley Armstrong Hawthorne/ Homestead Wes Armstrong –Wes wears many hats at Hawthorne. He is a mentor, coach, and confidant. We (staff and students) wouldn’t be successful here without him.
Scott Swanson District Office Scott Swanson – is recognized for being a team player and for stepping up to help when needed. Scott is a hardworking, dedicated employee, and we are proud to have him as a part of our team.
