Staff in the Spotlight - November 2017

The district is pleased to announce the November 2017 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools will honor a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

No photo available McKay Tanna Alford works so hard to get all of the extra things done at McKay -- she sees a need and jumps right in to help. Tanna is a go-to person for helping students with academics, behavior and even everyday needs. McKay kids are lucky to have her at their school!
Karen Case Sherwood Karen Case is extremely responsible, hardworking and very caring for her students as well as her co-workers. She is great working one-on-one with students that might be having a difficult day.
Holly Krokosz Washington Holly Krokosz is being recognized for her dedication to teach two grade levels this year, while continuing to support colleagues with technology and new tools and ideas that support learning and growth for all.
Tracey Perkes PELC Tracey Perkes is always building positive relationships with students and not allowing stressful moments to get her down. She jumps in to help wherever needed and does so with a smile. Tracey is able to reach kids very effectively with her calm, compassionate ways and she easily redirects potential behavior issues.
Chris Schulze Sunridge Chris Schulze is an amazing science teacher and a positive role model. He shows genuine kindness to students and staff. Chris has a calm and respectful demeanor with students and a willingness to help fellow teachers, even when he has pressing issues to deal with.
Alice Thomas PHS/Hawthorne Alice Thomas is honored for caring about her students with a giving heart! Alice is very dedicated to making the Art Department a strong one and it shows.
Emily Williams Homestead Emily Williams is patient with the students when they are writing and when helping them work through their road blocks. She received a grant to expand the library of books at Homestead. Emily does a great job in keeping her students’ interests sparked with newer literature.
Fred Hill Nixyaawii Fred Hill is celebrated for all the extra time he spent with the drum and dance group.

Diana Howland goes above and beyond in helping recruit new substitutes and helping teachers renew their teaching licenses. Diana never wastes a moment of her time while at work!
