September 2018 Staff in the Spotlight

The district is pleased to announce the September 2018 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

McKay Betty Townsend works diligently to meet the needs of all who enter McKay. She has gone above and beyond to become a trainer for our Conscious Discipline team and is always willing to lend a hand or give extra time to a teacher or administrator. Betty is selfless and a very knowledgeable leader for McKay and the Pendleton School District.
Sherwood

Barbara Fleming & Micki Zander are positive and flexible in helping staff, students, families and the new principal since the beginning of the school year. They are a top-notch team of professional, hardworking and dedicated front desk staff who run the show at Sherwood. They ROCK!

Washington

Nora Rivera & Kerri Swenson have spent countless hours ensuring a successful start to our school year. They warmly greet returning families & welcome new students and families to our school and community. Nora and Kerri work behind the scenes preparing and organizing supplies, files and pertinent documents to support all staff. They have been key communicators with  families regarding school and transportation information, always willing to give a helping hand and go the extra mile with a smile. They truly make the world go ‘round at Washington Elementary School.

PELC Lori Curtis works tirelessly to get us ready for day one of the school year and beyond. Patience, smiles, a calm style and a wonderful skill of keeping the office running smoothly make Lori a great asset at the PELC!
Sunridge

Angie Steidl & Kelly Doherty have been crucial in getting us all through the start of the year! They work so hard to help everyone and always do this with humor. Thank you for always making us laugh, Angie and Kelly!

PHS/Hawthorne Sonia Cooley is honored for the extra time and effort she gives her ECMC students to ensure their success in getting to college. She also works hard with her school to careers program.
Homestead Travis Zander spends extra time making connections with our clients. Whether he is supervising trips to sporting events, helping with homework or making schedules for students, Travis is always engaged in creating meaningful connections that extend beyond the walls of the classroom.
Nixya’awii Ken Mayfield has taken on a new role at our school and done so in stride. Ken is working hard to ensure that everything is running smoothly.

Suzanne Howard embodies the term “service to others”. She comes to work every day with a smile on her face and a “can do” attitude. When problems arise, she is always willing to be part of, if not, the solution. We truly appreciate Suzanne!
