February 2018 Staff in the Spotlight
The district is pleased to announce the February 2018 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!
McKay | Debbie Oliver is a 4th grade teacher of 30 years and is honored for working so hard with her teaching partner to make the 4th Grade Wax Museum a huge success. In addition, she is so kind and compassionate with students while providing strong academics for her kids. Debbie is wonderful to work with! | |
Sherwood | Karen Brown shares her Special Education knowledge with those who are willing to receive it. She works at making learning possible for every student and actually follows the mantra of “Every student, every time.” | |
Washington | Erin Donnelly has an amazing way with kids, making an extra effort to teach a variety of skills and build relationships with students. Erin goes above and beyond to support staff throughout the school. | |
PELC | Josh McGraw is an amazing teacher, keeping his students engaged, and is a gift to every child he works with, plus adults, too. He is always stepping up to help wherever needed. Josh is very appreciative of those who help in his room, making them feel like a part of the class and involving them. | |
Sunridge | John Summerfield is celebrated this month for putting on a play with some of our tougher kids – showing lots of dedication. | |
PHS/Hawthorne | Mitch Morioka is honored for going that extra mile to reach kids who are struggling. | |
Homestead | Tina Williams is a winner this month for using alternatives for our math students who come in with deficiencies. Recently, Tina has implemented Acellus for some of our students, and kids are making great progress. | |
Nixya’awii | Jewel Kennedy is appreciated for helping with the Senior Class Graduation preparation and making the cookies for the Val-O-Grams. | |
