October 2020 Staff in the Spotlight
The district is pleased to announce the October 2020
Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!
PELC | Iris Zamudio is the most caring person and goes the extra mile. She is always flexible and willing to do any task to support students and staff.
McKay | Alesha Walker for her knowledge and help with technology. She is always willing to answer questions, and she does an amazing job with students. She shares things that she has learned, and she always has a smile for all.
Sherwood | Kayla Frazier for all of her hard work on organizing materials, training other assistants on how to use assessments, planning for small group instruction and more. She also has an infectious positive spirit that she shares with us every day. She is such a great team member at our school.
Washington | Diane Fields for her amazing job in the cafeteria. She preps countless breakfasts and lunches each day for children. She has been flexible and supportive in serving Day Camp and Limited In Person Students. She goes outside each day, sun, wind, or rain with a smile, and greets each family as they come to get their food. We appreciate how she takes care of children and families at Washington and in our neighborhood.
Sunridge | Kristan Garton goes above and beyond in her cohort group. Students are well behaved and expected to do their school work. Kristan is always positive with staff and students she works with. She is always helpful and thinks of others. She is also good about lightening the mood and getting a laugh out of everyone.
PHS | Glenn Johnston for learning and implementing new technology with energy, enthusiasm, and humor as the mysterious “Mr. Emoji”. He bends over backwards for students, is so supportive, and truly cares about his students.
Hawthorne/ Homestead | Travis Zander for his work at Homestead. Travis works hard to create schedules, analyze transcripts, and ensure our students are getting the classes and credits they need during every stage of their time with us. Thanks, Travis!
District Office/Maintenance | Jenny Corey for her work with the PVLA program. Jenny has taken on a new position, one with no job description and she has jumped in and done a fantastic job building our K-8 PVLA program into a success. Her positive attitude and hard work in working with parents and students has built a great relationship of trust and has established a strong foundation for this program to grow and continue into the future.
Nixyáawii Community School | Lynette Minthorn works with students every Friday. She takes the time to help them cope with distance learning struggles. |
