The district is pleased to announce the October 2022 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

	PELC	Tasha Flory – Congratulations to Tasha Flory, Pendleton Early Learning Center Staff in the Spotlight for October.  Working as a paraprofessional is one of the most challenging positions in any school.  Coupled with doing the work in an early learning center where everyone you work with is five going on six, the job is intense.  Tasha takes everything thrown at her in stride.  Tasha has a smile on her face, puts 110% into everything she does, and loves the students.  On any given day, Tasha’s schedule can completely flip.  She takes a deep breath, makes sure the PELC kids are taken care of, and steps up anytime there is extra time in her schedule to help teachers.  For these reasons, we recognize Tasha Flory as our October Staff in the Spotlight for the PELC.  Congratulations!
	McKay	Ravyn Davis – Kitchen Lead – for always having a smile on her face.  She works really hard to get breakfast and lunch ready for the kids.  We are lucky to have her at McKay.
	Sherwood	Rhonda Daggett – Assistant Secretary – Here are a few comments our staff shared about her.  She has such a welcoming smile and is a great addition to our Sherwood team.  She has a great way of adding brightness to my day.  She has been an amazing addition to the Sherwood family, always willing to lend a helping hand when needed.  She always has a welcoming smile and kind words to offer.  Rhonda is doing an amazing job in the office.  Every time I go through the office, she has a smile on her face and is pleasant and professional to staff, parents, and students.  Keep up the great work, Rhonda!
	Washington	Mr. Kaplanovic – 4th Grade Teacher –Mr. K. always makes sure that students come first.  He is always positive and fun to be around.  He spends extra time getting to know his students and makes them know they are all special.  We are so thankful to have him at Washington.
	Sunridge	Laurie Cameron –Although Laurie is new to Sunridge Middle School as a 6th-grade social studies teacher, she is not new to Pendleton as her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren live here.  This is what her SMS teammates had to say about Laurie.  Laurie brings her amazing expertise and compassion to her students at Sunridge.  She is making great connections with her students to make sure that each student is supported.  Laurie has jumped into a new job, a new curriculum, and a new school with grace.  She is an amazing teacher, and Sunridge is lucky to have her.
	PHS	Kimi Carlson – Kimi is the lead secretary at PHS.  Kimi always helps create a professional and positive image for the school.  She always keeps daily operations running smoothly, and the office organized through multitasking and prioritizing.  She does a wonderful job of greeting and/or helping visitors, students, and staff in a friendly but professional manner at all times.  She has the ability to work efficiently in this fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and she has a real desire to help keep our school running efficiently.
	District Office/Maintenance	Brian Norris – Our district office Staff in the Spotlight is Brian Norris.  He manages the district facilities and all of their peculiarities with a smile.  He went the extra mile to make sure this year’s mud wars were the best.  He is dependable, easy to work with, responsible, and flexible with all the changing needs of the district.
	Hawthorne/ Homestead	Tina Williams- for taking on more duties this year with the loss of a staff member.  She has been a great resource for our staff
