February 2022 Staff in the Spotlight

The district is pleased to announce the February 2022 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

Tracey Perkes PELC Tracey Perkes – Tracey makes strong connections with students going above and beyond to help each one be successful. She is always professional and is awesome every day in her work at the PELC.
Amanda Sabin McKay Amanda Sabin – Amanda has transitioned into her new role effortlessly. She is always available to help and works so hard each day to keep our building clean. We are so lucky to have her here at McKay. Amanda takes care of the needs of staff and students at McKay flawlessly.
Gita Webster Sherwood Gita Webster – Gita is an incredibly dedicated teacher. Each day during her after-school work time, she spends time with students helping them feel more confident in their reading and math skills. She goes above and beyond! Gita works tirelessly to give every student what they need to be successful. She is also a key part of a positive work environment and school culture. Mrs. Webster is a top-notch teacher. Thank you, Gita!
Kerri Swenson Washington Kerri Swenson: Kerri is always willing to help teachers and students. She always has a kind smile and a beautiful attitude.
   John summerfield Sunridge John Summerfield – Our theater production this year was outstanding. I don’t think anyone knows the time and effort you put in to make this happen. Thanks for offering our students a way to share their talents in your Alice in Cellphone Land play. Kudos to you, John Summerfield for taking it on.
James McDonough PHS James McDonough – James is part of the maintenance team at PHS. He is meticulous in performing all kinds of cleaning and maintenance tasks around PHS. Not only is James good at his work, but he also maintains decorum when communicating with people around him and is generally well-liked by his peers. He is a very responsible and reliable person with the willingness to never go back on his work and be as effective and efficient as humanly possible.

Teresa Bermel Hawthorne/ Homestead Teresa Bermel: Teresa does a wonderful job in the lab with students doing credit retrieval or studying to get their GED. She sets up their test appointments through BMCC and helps them with their paperwork. We are so glad she is here for the students and for us.
Brian Norris District Office/
Brian Norris – Brian has assumed his new role as Facilities Manager with a drive and dedication to making the district the best it can be. Brian has gone above and beyond to get to know his staff, the facilities, and our processes. We appreciate his positive attitude and motivation. Brian is a welcome addition to the Pendleton School District team!
