March 2021 Staff in the Spotlight

The district is pleased to announce the March 2021 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

PELC Makenna Ramos – Her support, encouragement, and sharing with our transition to in-person learning is awesome!  She is a great resource and a positive light for the PELC.  Makenna helps organize our car line students each day and her help is extremely appreciated.
McKay Kadysha Wood – for her amazing connections with kids and her creative teaching strategies both online and in person.  Kadysha is humble and quiet, but she is a leader through example.  She does amazing things with students, and we learn so many things by watching her teach.
Sherwood Kayla Frazier – Sherwood would like to honor Kayla Frazier as the staff in the spotlight.  She goes above and beyond for her school and staff members.  She spends a lot of her extra time making sure everyone is taken care of.  She is very organized and flexible with all the changes, and is an amazing Sherwood Spur.  Kayla works so hard for all of us, giving all she’s got for students and staff.  She is “The Hostess with the Mostest!”
Washington Jessica Shill – Jessica is a new employee to Washington this year, and her responsibilities have continued to evolve and change as this year has progressed.  Through this, Jessica has demonstrated flexibility, collaborated and built connections with colleagues and students, and has always shown a “students first” attitude and approach.
Sunridge Angie Steidl – Handling the influx of calls from parents over the last few months hasn’t dissuaded Angie from being a beacon of joy in the office.  She exemplifies what it means to be a positive role model and makes each trip to the office memorable and enjoyable.  And, I can’ say it enough times . . . Angie is our Angel on earth here at Sunridge!!!!!  We love every single smile and bit of laughter we get to share with you.  Angie!  You are so KIND!
PHS Jan Peterson-Terjeson – for being an organized, dedicated worker in many different capacities.  Jan is an excellent support, advocate, and motivator for our day camp students.  Jan truly cares for students but still holds them to high expectations.  She challenges them to do their best, supports them along the way, and acknowledges their success.  We are thankful to have her here at PHS.
Hawthorne/Homestead Kelly Simpson – Kelly wears many hats, Student Success Liaison, Teacher, PVLA Liaison, and any place else he is needed.  He goes above and beyond in all categories, and he is always happy to do Google Meets to help online students.  He has a calming effect on our students in crisis.  We are blessed to have him here at Hawthorne.
