October 2018 Staff in the Spotlight

The district is pleased to announce the October 2018 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

McKay Susan Caldwell works so hard to make sure all our bus students are accounted for, have breakfast and make it on the bus. She is always taking great care of our students and making it easy to answer parent questions when busing challenges arise. We appreciate her hard work!
Sherwood Jolene Hudson, 4th grade teacher, is an amazing staff member who is a master teacher for kids and a superb colleague who shares her knowledge in Conscious Discipline and iReady programs. We are so lucky to have her on our staff so we can learn from her!
Washington Jose Diaz works hard to keep our school clean. He always has a smile on his face and a super positive attitude. Thank you, Jose!
PELC Rachele Johnson is always a great team player and open to new ideas and communication. She continues to make necessary connections and changes to make her classroom an effective learning environment and takes on Square 1 Art each year for our building.
Sunridge Kelly Olsen is recognized for her amazing work with students and for the way she builds positive connections with kids.
PHS Stu Clem is honored for all he does to lead and guide our Leadership Team. He spends countless hours of time & energy to make it an awesome program, going all-out every single year for Homecoming week, and 2018 was great. Stu, you are AMAZING!
Hawthorne/ Homestead Teresa Bermel is always willing to learn new things. She advocates for students while still holding them accountable for their actions.  Teresa is stepping outside her comfort zone this year with many of the new job responsibilities she has and rocking it!
Nixya’awii Chelsea Hallam works extremely hard to teach her students the value of expressing themselves through words. Each student she teaches feels valued and has learned to believe in themselves through the efforts of Ms. Hallam.
