September 2020 Staff in the Spotlight

The district is pleased to announce the September 2020 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

PELC Donna Bostwick for embracing CDL with a positive attitude and being a leader to help others with technology tips and ideas.  She is truly appreciated for her positive drive to create an energetic, fun and engaging classroom for students and then share those ideas with staff.  We all enjoyed “Professor Mrs. Einstein” who visits this Google Classroom for Weird Science Wednesdays.
McKay Patti Thorne is recognized for the support she provides at McKay.  Whether she’s delivering meals or school supplies to students, supporting staff members with distant learning, or opening her office door to anyone in need of a kind, listening ear, Patti will be there.  She goes above and beyond for her McKay family.
Sherwood Kristen Campbell goes above and beyond to meet her students’ needs, even coming back to school in the evening to do some individual CDL until we get first graders used to online learning.  She is a very quiet leader who brings calm to our team, and we are lucky to have her at Sherwood
Washington Colette Spratling for being willing and able to do any task that supports her school colleagues.  She values co-workers’ time and steps in to help wherever needed.  Colette is a master of tasks and shows tremendous support and care for others.  She is a treasure and valued at Washington.
Sunridge Katie Bodewig for helping with all tech questions and breakdowns at the drop of the hat and with a great attitude.  Katie’s help has been amazing and outstanding.
PHS Kimi Carlson for always being cheerful, friendly, organized, patient, and helpful.  Our office is a bright spot because of how she greets us.  She is funny and nice, and we are glad we have her.
Hawthorne/ Homestead Annette Bittorf – Annette has transitioned into the Hawthorne team this fall with enthusiasm and an effort to connect students to math content that is both engaging and fun.
District Office/
Maintenance
Meagan Coots – for putting in countless hours transitioning student information systems this summer.  She has provided exceptional customer service to get everyone up and running with the new software.  She has gone above and beyond to learn the new system and ensure students’ data is accurate.  We appreciate what she brings to our DO team.
Nixyaawii Community School All Staff for their ability to work through CDL issues and learning the new student information system (Synergy).
