February 2020 Staff in the Spotlight

The district is pleased to announce the February 2020 Staff in the Spotlight recipients. Every month, each of our schools honors a staff member at their building for going above and beyond their regular duties or for doing something special. Join us in celebrating these outstanding employees!

PELC Shellie Wyss – makes incredible connections with her students and families.  She creates a classroom where students love to come each day and feel so supported in her positive environment.  Mrs. Wyss has a calm presence with students and staff.  She has a wealth of knowledge and many wonderful ideas.  The staff enjoys working and planning with Mrs. Wyss!
McKay Samantha Cox – for her dedication to her second graders.  Samantha works very hard to make strong connections with students and provide an engaging learning environment.
Sherwood Betty Townsend for being very supportive to students and staff when they are in need.  This is her first year at Sherwood Elementary, and she has already made great connections with staff, students, and families.  She is so helpful with academics, behavior, and school-wide processes.  We are lucky to have her at Sherwood.
Washington Angie Bork – Angie is well prepared each day.  She provides instruction to meet student needs.  She has a huge heart, and she makes sure every student feels loved and encouraged.  Angie is genuine and a team player.
Sunridge John Summerfield for doing such a GREAT JOB working with students on the play – organizing, creating, and coaching them.  IT’S A BIG TASK!
PHS Evan Rummerfield – for his work ethic.  Evan possesses valuable characteristics in all working environments.  He’s self-motivated, has integrity, and has a positive attitude.  He is an outstanding English teacher and let’s recognize him for “Bow Tie” Tuesdays

Hawthorne/ Homestead Tina Williams – for her time and effort spent working to get her kids up to grade level in math.

Alena Davis & Heather Ficken have transitioned this year to provide site-based nursing services increasing their presence at each one of our schools.  We appreciate their dedication to our students as we move to a more comprehensive school nursing program focused on the health and wellness of our kids.
