Please help us celebrate and pay tribute to our retirees from the Pendleton School District.

Today, we congratulate Barbara Fleming, head secretary at Sherwood Elementary School.  Barb has worked in the district for 34 years. Contact with the staff, students, and families and the daily challenge of orchestrating a multitude of situations that occur is something she will miss the most.  A memorable moment is when calling a classroom on the old crackly speakers in a room and a kindergarten student saying, “Teacher, God is calling.”

Barb’s words of wisdom:  “Know that you will learn this in 3 years.  The first year everything is new and scary.  The second year you will say, “I remember this.” The third year you will have it.  There will be changes all the time but be positive and say, “Ok, it will work out.”
