Makayla Jones, English Language Arts Teacher at Pendleton High School

Although she was born in Washington, Makayla spent most of her childhood in La Grande and in Hermiston and considers those two places to be where she grew up. She just moved to Pendleton with her husband in July. Makayla went to EOU to earn her undergraduate degree and attended George Fox University to earn her Master of Arts in Teaching. She taught for the past two years in the Morrow County School District but is very excited to be part of the Pendleton community. “I love the cultures and the creativity that students bring with them. I am also pretty excited to learn from the really talented teachers and grow as an educator.” She and her husband love to hike and paddleboard with their dog, cook together and watch TV.
