Michael Swanson, Social Studies Teacher at Sunridge Middle School

Born and raised in Pendleton, Michael is a Class of 2017 PHS graduate who is starting his first teaching job. He attended EOU, earning a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in teaching with dual endorsements of social sciences and English language arts. Michael completed his student teaching last year at Sunridge. He said, “I am most excited about having the opportunity to give back to my hometown by helping students make the transition from the elementary level to their teenage years both academically and athletically.” Michael likes the outdoors, sports and movies.
