Three PHS Students Named to All-State Choir
Three Pendleton High School student musicians have been accepted to the Oregon All-State Choir. Cassondra Bedolla (junior), Madison Gruenhagen (senior) and Gaignun Smith (senior) will represent PHS at the event. In addition, Megann Fleming (senior) was selected as an alternate.
All-State is an honor music ensemble program run by the Oregon Music Education Association (OMEA). Students accepted must pass a rigorous audition and have instructor approval and recommendation. They spend two and a half days in an intensive rehearsal process, and the event culminates with a concert in the Hult Center in Eugene. The All-State ensembles meet concurrently with the OMEA all-state conference for music educators on January 13-16 in Eugene.
PHS Choir and Orchestra Director Emily Muller-Cary said, “This is an extremely rewarding experience for students to gather with fellow motivated student musicians from around Oregon and have the privilege to rehearse and perform with renowned guest conductors.”
Congratulations!
