We continue to work through the implications of the COVID-19 outbreak on your child’s education with local and state officials.  Unfortunately at this time, we have more questions than answers for you.  Again I remind you that is a very fluid situation that historically has not happened for close to 100 years.  Today’s circumstances require us to remain calm and rational in the best interest of our students.  I am sharing a link with you that can help you with your children if you are so inclined.  Some of the key takeaways for me are:

1. Children will react and respond as the prominent adults do in their lives.  Your words become their words.
2. During times of crisis, it is too easy to try to lay blame on the cause.  This serves no useful purpose and is usually misguided.
3. Limit your and your children’s exposure to the pandemic media blitz.  Educate yourself, don’t saturate yourself.
4. Establish routines and stick to them as much as possible.  I understand that when we close, this puts added stress on a number of our families.
5. Focus on the things you can control
