The Pendleton School District Facilities will be applying an herbicide treatment across the district to all lawns, ornamentals, and sports fields the week of March 23-27, 2026.

We continue to work through the implications of the COVID-19 outbreak on your child’s education with local and state officials. Unfortunately at this time, we have more questions than answers for you. Again I remind you that is a very fluid situation that historically has not happened for close to 100 years. Today’s circumstances require us to remain calm and rational in the best interest of our students. I am sharing a link with you that can help you with your children if you are so inclined. Some of the key takeaways for me are:
- Children will react and respond as the prominent adults do in their lives. Your words become their words.
- During times of crisis, it is too easy to try to lay blame on the cause. This serves no useful purpose and is usually misguided.
- Limit your and your children’s exposure to the pandemic media blitz. Educate yourself, don’t saturate yourself.
- Establish routines and stick to them as much as possible. I understand that when we close, this puts added stress on a number of our families.
- Focus on the things you can control
